about

On September 16, 2022, Martina DaSilva will release Autumn Leaves and I’ll Be Seeing You — a visual double single from her upcoming LP “Living Room 3,” due late October 2022. Both songs feature fellow vocalist Laura Anglade.

DaSilva spoils us once again with this double single. She and Anglade offer up gorgeous renditions of Autumn Leaves — with Anglade delivering her verses in French — and I’ll Be Seeing You, sharing a chemistry that seems effortless. “It just clicks,” they both attest. Alex Goodman (guitar) and Rick Rosato (bass) give standout performances, crafting a spare, elegant environment around DaSilva and Anglade's vocals.

Autumn Leaves and I’ll Be Seeing You kick off the rollout for DaSilva’s “Living Room 3,” the next entry in her growing series of self-produced visual records. DaSilva conceived of the project in early 2020: each week or so, she would invite friends from the New York jazz community, or artists visiting town, into the living room of her apartment to rehearse and film a few songs.

“It’s not super calculated, it’s just a bunch of great musicians in a room. We usually learn every song in an hour,” she explains.

The results speak for themselves: recordings that feel alive, capturing a wide swath of jazz’s best young talent up close and personal, with DaSilva, who comes from a family of visual artists, shaping the vibrant look of the footage. To date, the “Living Room” series boasts thirty-plus music videos and counting, offering an intimate, unmatched perspective onto what jazz looks and sounds like today. “It’s made me feel like an artist again,” DaSilva says of the project. “It’s been incredibly rewarding.”
